Madera, CA — November 7, 2024 — The Madera County Economic Development Commission (MCEDC) has recently announced the appointment of Kristina Gallagher as the new Executive Director of the MCEDC, effective November 4, 2024. Gallagher brings a wealth of experience in local government advocacy, public policy, and community engagement, positioning her to lead the Commission in promoting economic growth, supporting business development and strengthening community partnerships across Madera County.
In her previous position at the California State Association of Counties (CSAC), Gallagher was instrumental in working with local governments to pass legislation and advocate for critical state funding in the housing, land use and transportation space. Her understanding of California’s economic landscape and public policy framework allows her to anticipate and address challenges facing the region. Her work with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and community organizations has helped secure vital resources and foster a collaborative environment for growth.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kristina Gallagher to our team,” said Robert Poythress, Chairman of the MCEDC. “Her experience with California’s legislative processes and her dedication to public service make her an exceptional choice to lead the MCEDC and enhance our region’s economic landscape.”
As Executive Director, Gallagher will lead initiatives aimed at attracting new businesses, supporting local business, and enhancing workforce development programs. She will collaborate closely with local government, businesses, and community organizations to identify opportunities for growth.
“I am honored to join the MCEDC and work alongside our community partners to create sustainable economic opportunities,” said Gallagher. Madera County has incredible potential, and I look forward to building on its strengths to support local businesses and attract new investments.”
