MCEDC’s Economic Summit Highlights

Last week we hosted our annual Economic Summit Luncheon at the Madera Municipal Golf Course.

We had about 150 people in attendance.  The event was supported by five gracious sponsors; The Greater Madera County Industrial Association, Citizens Business Bank, Span Construction & Engineering, Newmark Grubb Pearson Commercial, North Fork Mono Rancheria and Red Rock Environmental.

The highlight of this year’s luncheon were the guest speakers; Dorothy Rothrock and Doug Robinson. Rothrock is President of California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA). CMTA is a statewide organization dedicated to advocating on behalf of the state’s manufacturing and technology companies. She talked about the importance of advocating for the State’s manufacturers with an emphasis on keeping companies in California. Robinson is Principal with RCM Robinson Capital Management LLC, an SEC registered investment advisory and management firm. He spoke about the health of the local and national economy with a particular focus on demographics, debt and deflation.
