The Grand Opening of Freedom Industrial Park

groundbreaking

It was a golden week last week! Our organization had the pleasure of celebrating the opening of Freedom Industrial Park and the ground breaking of Deerpoint Group Inc.

We kicked off the week with a Brokers’ Tour of Freedom Industrial Park and the surrounding industrial areas in Madera. The event was generously sponsored by Citizens Business Bank. About 40 local brokers boarded a tour bus at the Madera Municipal Golf Couse and toured Madera’s available industrial land and specifically Freedom Industrial Park. After the tour the bus arrived back at the golf course for lunch and a talk from Freedom Industrial Park’s listing Broker Nick Audino about the park’s benefits and plans for additional buildings.

Then on the following day, Thursday, September 24th, Madera officially opened Freedom Industrial Park, consisting of 100 acres located at Pine Street and Pecan Avenue.  The project was spurred by a partnership between the City of Madera and Span Construction and Engineering. At full build out the park is expected to add approximately 1 million square feet of industrial space, increasing the county’s 7 million sq. ft. base of industrial inventory by 14 percent. The county’s vacancy rate has been under 1% for the past two years. Freedom Industrial Park will provide opportunity to establish more manufactures and jobs to the greater Madera County area.

Along with the opening of Madera’s new industrial park there was a golden shovel ground breaking for Deerpoint Group Inc. Span Construction and Engineering is constructing a 65,000 square foot design/build structure for Deerpoint and their 70 employees. The company specializes in water treatment chemicals and fertilizers for agricultural use and has been growing rapidly over the past five years. There are plans for a second 41,000 square foot building to be built following Deerpoint and half of the building is already leased.

The industrial park includes benefits such as easy highway access, full city water and sewer services, and a Union Pacific rail line. Please click on the flyer link below for more details.
